Blue Texas

"Just a small community of likable folks west of the Yegua"

Blue may not be unique, but those of us that live here like to think so.
We don't have much, but we have friends.
We have our "Old timers" and we have our "New Comers"

We have those that just happen to pass through and sit and have a beer and maybe order something from the grill. You can always find a little bit of solitude off the beaten path on the porch at Jackson's General Store.

Blue is located  on FM 696 between Hwy 290 east and State Hwy 77. Almost 12 miles between them. Head east from Austin to Giddings, 4 miles past Elgin turn left at the flashing light onto 696. Travel approximately 12 miles and you are in Blue.

Blue has that small town look where you would think that nothing ever happens.

But come Friday and Saturday night there will be a lot of folks (young and old alike) show up at the store for some good music, cold beer, good food and get togethers.

Jackson's General Store is the "hub" of the community everyday and later on  Sunday. We have two churches, small but well worth checking out.

Recently Lee and Fhebe Lane (proprietors of Jackson's Store) have been hiring a local band "The Lee County Line".
They are local and put on a really good show.

They have real talent. Come and check them out. I'll try to post their events when I get them. Check out our calendar.

We are just starting this web page and will soon add a photo gallery of old photos which adorn the back walls when you head for the pool table. Also we will be adding current photos of events as they happen.

I will be including a brief history of the settlement of Blue also. If you have something I can use let me know.

Blue even has an annual fishing tournament where teams are paired and everyone heads off to different stock tanks to see who can catch the biggest and baddest bass.

That evening the winner is announced and then there is this big fish fry. All are welcome.

If we ever finish our golf course.....well that will be something.

"We have a good time in Blue...so should you."

The website email is set up and anyone that has any information about Blue such as stories, history or photos can send them to me for addition to the site.
